Marketing Operations Manager/Director

Basic Function:
Develop and manage predictive and analytical processes and tools to enhance and support best-in-class marketing performance management. Drive market definition, product positioning, competitive analysis, and creation of relevant performance metrics and tools. This is a newly created position requiring a highly skilled individual with outstanding project management, marketing resource management, and tactical acumen.

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the CEO, the person in this role will focus his/her time to strategize and develop new solutions for affiliate programs, web analytics tools and analysis, and overall marketing program performance and budgeting. This includes collaborating with and integrating other departments in designing and developing resources to analyze marketing campaigns, advertisement impressions and click logs, and assessing their impact. He/she will create new processes and tools to enhance our product offerings and support the needs of our growing, dynamic marketplace.

Duties and Key Performance Indicators:

  • Lead the development of marketing analytics directives that will help identify trends, determine course corrections, and initiate positive business opportunities
  • Partner with Business Development, Sales and key personnel in strategizing plans supporting market demand, deals and partnerships to initiate new campaigns, incentives and affiliate programs.
  • Manage the design and implementation of analytics tools and processes for marketing programs.
  • Manage new media, non-traditional guerilla, viral and event marketing.
  • Develop and execute innovative marketing programs to drive marketplace growth and user retention.
  • Support the development of annual and long-range marketing plans to meet business objectives, including short-term and long-term strategic planning in conjunction with Customer Love, Sales and Business Development.
  • Support the optimization of brand guidelines, messaging, website copy and marketing collateral.
  • Help develop consumer segmentation and identify marketing programs, product strategies and community outreach efforts that support key components of the marketplace.
  • Develop and manage web analytics framework to track and analyze relevant consumer insights and behaviors.
  • Drive consumer market research activities, trend and competitive analysis to help define and measure marketing and product strategies.
  • Support the research of potential affiliate businesses, including website content, reputation and marketability.
  • Provide financial modeling, forecasting and dashboards, including data interpretation and reporting. Analyze potential revenue and traffic streams for potential affiliates.
  • Develop detailed knowledge of leading-edge analytical technologies and affiliate partnership criteria within emerging market opportunities.
  • Communicate key programs and product strategy via multiple channels including printed collateral, presentations, online, and PR.
  • Support lead generation activities to help meet company sales goals and business objectives.
  • Other duties, responsibilities, and qualifications may be required and/or assigned as business needs dictate.

Additional Information:
The ideal candidate must be extremely proactive, flexible and have a strong consumer marketing background; must have a demonstrated passion for web technologies, work effectively within a team environment and be comfortable working in a self-directed autonomous role. Interaction with others is both internal and external, with some communication required with outside clients and industry personnel. You must have excellent marketing, analytical and problem solving skills, along with a hands-on, "get it done" approach. This is not a 9 - 5 job, but we wouldn't have it any other way. Skills and Experience:

  • College degree and/or relevant experience required, MBA a plus.
  • 3+ years experience developing and managing web analytics and affiliate programs.
  • Agency and/or online media company experience preferred in B2C and B2B marketing.
  • Knowledge of and experience with tying marketing investments to business and financial outcomes.
  • Experience with marketing strategy development, customer databases, segmentation, testing, and marketing data analysis required, including direct experience with CRM systems and relational databases.
  • Research, analytics and/or database management experience required, including hands-on predictive modeling. Must understand quantitative statistical methods and tools.
  • Superior project management, leadership and decision-making skills are a must.
  • Occasional travel required.
